Why It Matters

Lint buildup costs more than you think.

The lint trap catches the obvious stuff. What gets past it (and there's always something) accumulates inside the vent line over years. Here's what that quietly does to your home.

#1

House fire risk

Clogged dryer vents are one of the most common causes of residential fires reported to U.S. fire departments each year. Lint is highly flammable, and a dryer that overheats because it can't exhaust is exactly how it starts.

Drying time

When the vent line is restricted, your dryer runs a second or third cycle to finish a load. That's electricity wasted, gas wasted, and an extra hour of heat dumped into your laundry room.

Shortened dryer life

A dryer fighting a clogged vent runs hotter and longer, which burns out heating elements and motors years before they should fail. A $200 cleaning routinely saves a $900 dryer replacement.

+

Higher energy bills

South Florida humidity already makes the dryer work harder. A restricted vent multiplies that. Your power bill ticks up steadily without anything in your daily routine actually changing.

The Right Tool For The Job

We bring the machine, not a shop vac and a wish.

Champion runs a dedicated rotary brush + high-CFM vacuum system designed specifically for dryer vent cleaning. The rotating brush head physically scrubs the duct wall while the vacuum captures every bit of lint at the source. The difference shows up in what we pull out: a typical first cleaning fills a contractor bag.

It's the same equipment professional cleaners use up north for chimneys and commercial HVAC ductwork, scaled to the four-inch line that runs from your dryer to the outside wall. No mess inside your house, no half-measure, and we show you what came out before we pack up.

How A Cleaning Goes

Done right, in under an hour.

Most homes take 45–60 minutes from arrival to walkthrough. Townhomes with long roof runs sometimes go to 90. Either way, the steps are the same. We don't take shortcuts on the inspection at either end.

Step 1

Disconnect & inspect

We pull the dryer forward, disconnect the duct, and inspect both the dryer's internal lint chamber and the vent line where it leaves the unit.

Step 2

Power-clean the line

The rotary brush runs the full length of the duct (from inside the laundry area to the exterior vent hood), scrubbing the duct wall while the vacuum pulls every bit out.

Step 3

Clear the exterior hood

The outside termination is where buildup loves to hide: flap-stuck, bird nests, decade-old lint. We open it up, clear it, and verify the flap moves freely.

Step 4

Reconnect & test

We reconnect, run the dryer on heat for a couple of minutes, and confirm strong airflow at the outside vent. Then we vacuum any lint from behind the dryer and put everything back the way we found it.

When To Call

If you're seeing any of these, the vent's overdue.

Every dryer pushes a small amount of lint into the line. After a few years it adds up, and it tends to show up the same handful of ways. If two or more of these sound familiar, you're due.

Clothes take more than one cycle

Damp towels, jeans still warm-wet. The dryer's working but airflow isn't carrying moisture out.

The dryer is hot to the touch

A properly venting dryer stays warm, not hot. Anything you can't comfortably keep your hand on is a red flag.

Lint visible at the outside vent hood

If lint is escaping the hood, way more is sitting in the line behind it. Step outside and check during a cycle.

Burning smell during a cycle

The smell of overheated lint or hot plastic is the warning sign you don't ignore. Stop the dryer, unplug it, and call.

Laundry room is hot & humid

If the room feels like a sauna while the dryer runs, the heat that's supposed to be exhausting outside is staying inside.

It's been more than a year

South Florida humidity, year-round dryer use, and pet-heavy households all shorten the safe interval. Annual is the right cadence for most homes.
